Present at the Guan Lu interview, where he opens with a sneer at the diviner's diction and closes by calling the reading 'mere senile gossip' — and is answered 'The gift of age is to see that which is yet to come; the gift of gossip is to perceive what is not said.' Guan Lu's private verdict: his gait is 'that of one whose sinews are loosed from his bones… This is the aspect of a disembodied soul.'
