Governor of Jincheng, and the most effective of Deng Ai's four columns. Destroys the Shu camps at Gansong, which is what pulls Jiang Wei off the main battle; refuses to fight him on the hills and draws him under a precipice where boulders and logs are rolled down; and later bars the road at the Frontier River Pass, survives three arrows and a spear-thrust that kills his horse, and is rescued.

Named among the officers Deng Ai places in posts across the conquered territory without waiting for authority from the capital.
