Qiang Prime Minister, the civil half of the command. Advises accepting Wei's alliance, then twice overrides the suspicion that would have saved the army: told of the empty camp and the lute he answers 'Zhuge Liang's base trick is the pretense of a pretense, and you had better attack', and when troops appear behind the hills he says it does not matter and urges the pursuit faster — straight into the covered pits. Captured by Ma Dai, he is unbound, given wine and kind words, and released with every prisoner and all their gear, carrying an offer of everlasting friendship and an instruction to stop listening to rebels.
