Destroys the rebellion. A general in Zhong Hui's confidence and a former subordinate of the imprisoned Hu Lie, he gets Zhong Hui's own permission to visit the captives ('I am placing great trust in you, and you must be loyal. Our secret must be kept'), and uses it to pass Hu Lie's letter out to his son. Then carries the date of the rising back in to the prisoners. Every part of the mutiny runs through him.
