Wutu Gu

The twelve-span giant of the Wuguo Kingdom who eats serpents and wears scales — lends Meng Huo his thirty thousand oil-steeped rattan soldiers, on whom no arrow, sword, or river has any hold. Wary of wooded ambushes exactly as warned, he follows fifteen victories into the one bare-rock valley where wood was never needed — and burns with his whole army.
