Cheng Yu's son, and the author of the only Wei plan that nearly works. Reads Zhao Zilong exactly right — 'brave in the field, but lacking in the council chamber. Really he is not greatly to be feared' — and designs the two-pronged ambush with a feigned retreat and Xiahou Mao directing from a hilltop, which traps the veteran down to his last thousand men. Not a minor figure in this chapter.
