Begs Yuan Shao to take empty Xuchang while Cao Cao is committed east - and watches the unrepeatable chance die of a child's scabies. He strikes the ground with his staff: 'everything is spoiled by the illness of a child!'

Twice blocks the autumn expedition - the moment passed with Xuzhou's fall; wait for a real opening - and is nearly executed for it, saved by Liu Bei's plea and thrown into prison instead. 'Neglect your servant's wise words, and you will fail in the field.'
