Then taken in by Chen Tai's false defection, loses his army in the pits, is caught outside his own tent 'rushing out to get to horse', and is untied by Guo Huai in person and offered a reward to change sides — which he does, leading the march that breaks Jiang Wei's camp with Wei soldiers mixed in among his own.
